I'd be all for it, assuming it tries to respect whatever world state you had from Origins. Similarly, I can't imagine they don't go with a new protagonist, which would then possibly (likely?) result in the Inquisitor possibly taking up a Hawke-like role/cameo. Now, what I'm torn on is the (relatively small) odds of whether or not we'll continue with the Inquisitor, given the focus on Solas and the greater power structure of Thedas.and by nature, if Morrigan/Leliana/Josie/Cullen are all still around.ĭorian's got decent odds of being around, but I can't really see them just bringing back any of the other companions, especially considering that most, if not all of them, are either killable or 'skippable/fire-able'. Honestly, I can't even imagine Connor will be a salient plot point at all, given that he's entirely optional. Unless the game hard-pivots back to the darkspawn, I don't know if I see it happening. The Hero's power base is so relatively miniscule compared to the Inquisition, which in and of itself won't necessarily have power in Tevinter. The only reason the Hof would come back is either through the Morrigan's kid plotline/the related old-dragon-god-soul thing that becomes said darkspawn having some power-wank esque tie-into the HoF.or some massive threat to thedas that needs all wardens on deck. What about you? Do you think the HoF will show up? Do you want them to? I don't know how they'd pull it off, but seeing my Dalish Elven Warrior come back would be so, so cool to see, especially with the leap in graphical technology since DA:O, and the addition of real voice acting for the character. Could they relegate the HoF to Heroic/Charming/Stern like they did Hawke without pissing people off? Unlikely. Obviously in terms of resources, but more so in terms of pleasing fans.

Importing those into a new game, and giving your unvoiced character a voice, would be a massive undertaking. This is likely due to the sheer number of customizable options we were given in DA: Origins. However, one character has been notoriously absent since their debut title - the Hero of Fereldan, your original player character who ended the fifth blight. The Inquisitor is almost inevitably going to show up at some point in DA4, being (arguably) the most important of the three heroes from a lore standpoint. Hawke even showed up in Inquisition and played a fairly major role in a certain questline. On that note, characters you've let live also are known to appear in future installments, particularly if they are well loved and popular (See: Leliana, Alistair). Characters die, including your own, potentially.
